About Henry's Foods

In 1929 Henry Eidsvold began his own candy and tobacco products distributing business out of the basement of his home in Minneapolis called Henry’s Candy Company.

In the fall of 1929 Henry’s Candy Company had outgrown the original basement location in Minneapolis. The company was moved to Morris in West Central Minnesota. Henry chose the old LeGrande Hotel Building on Pacific Avenue in Morris as its new location.

Henry’s Candy Company moved to Alexandria, MN in 1990. They purchased Ludke & Co., Inc. at that time and expanded their product line to include grocery products. The name was changed to Henry’s Foods, Inc. to reflect that expansion.

Henry’s Foods, Inc., has expanded from distributing candy and tobacco products to the distribution of full line food service, paper, and wholesale groceries. Henry’s services three-fourths of Minnesota ranging from the Canadian border to the Iowa border, as well as parts of Eastern North and South Dakota.

Today, Henry’s Foods is a distributing member of Pocahontas Foods USA, a nationally recognized foodservice purchasing and marketing group.

Since it’s inception, Henry’s has moved from a trunk of a car basement operation to a 152,000 square foot warehouse operation. The product line has grown from a few candy bars to over 10,000 items, and from a sales staff of one to a sales staff of 25 with eight field representatives.

Though Henry’s employs over 150 people, it remains a family owned, operated, and oriented business.
